Trying out the new veggie menu at Nando's

. Wednesday 1 November 2017 .
As you may or may not have heard, Nando's has binned their beloved soya Veggie option off of their menu and replaced it with the Supergreen and the Sweet Potato and Butternut. The Supergreen is true to its name; a patty full of greens from broccoli to kale to edamame beans. For those who prefer orange plates, however, the Sweet Potato and Butternut is a patty mixed with red pepper, onion, and edamame beans. Of course, as usual both options can be made as a burger, pitta, or wrap.

My usual Nando's order is a Beanie wrap with mango & lime spice, Peri-Peri chips, and coleslaw with a side of halloumi. I also always ask for the free mayo and one of my friends has recently introduced me to Peri Tamer which isn't actually advertised by Nando's, but for all my fellow bbq sauce lovers out there, it's a must-have accompaniment to your meal. Just to switch it up a bit I swapped my favourite Beanie wrap for the new Sweet Potato and Butternut wrap and I actually preferred it. It seemed to have a lot more flavour and a little bit more heat than the Beanie. It could potentially become my new regular. I believe that if ordered without the mayo, then these wraps are also vegan - but don't quote me because I'm not 100% sure. My boyfriend ordered the Sweet Potato and Butternut burger which was actually his first-ever vegetarian Nando's and actually preferred it to the chicken options. 1-0 vegetarianism!

Let me know if any of you have tried out the new veggie options yet or what you're wanting to try! Also let me know if there's any specific restaurants you want me to try out and write a post on.
